A Year in Sioux Falls Construction
This month marks one year since we officially opened our doors as Axiom Construction Group, and what a year it’s been.
From breaking ground on our first projects to developing our crew and refining our systems, it’s been a fast, full, and incredibly rewarding twelve months. We’ve built some beautiful buildings, forged great relationships, and proven (to ourselves and to the market) that there’s room and real demand for a general contractor who does things differently.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short time, but even more grateful for what we’ve learned along the way. So, in honor of our first anniversary, here are 12 things we’ve learned in 12 months of business and how we apply them to our work. These lessons have shaped who we are, how we build, and where we’re headed next.

From the very beginning, we’ve found that the strongest partnerships are built on open, honest communication. No sales talk here. When clients trust us enough to share their real goals, budget concerns, and pain points, that’s when we can deliver something exceptional.

In construction, trust is earned in the details — how clean the job site is, how quickly questions get answered, how closely we stick to the schedule.
One of the biggest things that this year has reinforced is that our clients notice the small things. We made a deliberate decision early on to stay lean, keeping a small, intentionally built crew of people who know their craft and take pride in it.

Year one has been an incredible ride full of learning, growth, and momentum. And we’re just getting started.
We’ve got big goals for the year ahead: expanding our footprint across the Sioux Falls area, growing our design-build portfolio, and continuing to refine the systems that keep our projects organized and efficient.
